Celine is an illustrator and a senior student studying at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She is a Vancouver-based artist, yet grew up in Shenzhen, China, where she was deeply influenced. The subject matters that Celine is engaging with are mostly human emotions and figures. Thus, she is an artist who strives to portray a liminal space between everyday lives and humorous fantasies.
Her artistic style consists of an influence from Japanese anime, manga and pixel arts. She works on various digital platforms, such as SAI, Photoshop and Procreate. Besides digital works, she also draws in watercolour, pencil crayon and gouache. Chapter illustrations, book illustrations and paper cutting are all within her professional domains, and currently, she is developing a children’s pop-up book.
